My father-in-law had been diagnosed with Glaucoma for many years. He would see floaters in his eyes and it made driving as well as day to day life uncomfortable as the floaters blocked his vision. My husband & I would pray and confess about his eyes being healed in Christ whenever he told us about his issue with his eyes..
Initially, my father-in-law was uncomfortable because he felt if it is God’s will that he has glaucoma, it cannot be helped. He is a man with a deep passion for the LORD and the Word and someone I enjoyed speaking to about the bible, but at that point in time, he was unable to wholeheartedly believe for his healing. We were thanked for our love and intercession but he was not confident that he would be healed since it has been so long.
My husband and I believed otherwise. We firmly believe that illness is not of God and that by the stripes of Jesus, my father-in-law would be healed. We persisted in our prayers and family communion time with our son would see us confessing over my father-in-law’s medical conditions.
One day, my father-in-law asked us if we had been praying for his eye condition. We of course replied that we have persisted in doing so. He thanked us and told us that when he had gone for his usual check-up, the doctor attending to him actually found no trace of glaucoma in him and was confused as to why he was taking glaucoma medication!
It was an awesome experience of Daddy God’s love and grace for my father-in-law who is a practicing Methodist. He got to see firsthand how our heavenly Father’s will is to heal us regardless of what the illness is and how long it has been. If only we believe right and speak in faith, the impossible can be possible. God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
Fast forward a few years, recently he shared with us how he attended a healing service in his church with my mother-in-law & a persistent pain in his knee that had been making it difficult for him to walk and move around for years was healed! He shared that he believed for healing and received it during the service & there was a warmth in his knee as they were being prayed over. After the service, he realized that the pain had completely disappeared. Praise the LORD!
Despite being in his 70s, I praise God for how my father-in-law keeps growing in his faith with each passing day. He even encouraged me that the LORD would restore my lost iPhone back to me because we have prayed it so during our trip to Penang this year (see my other testimony).
I believe that His health is that of the LORD’s and therefore he cannot help but be whole. We continue to believe for him to live to be a 120,. We continue to believe that his eyes will not grow dim nor his strength abated. He will live life and life more abundantly and his youth will be like those of the eagles. Amen. =)
