Youth is not a time of life. It is a state of mind. It is a state of mind of courage and love of ease. It is the condition of the heart.
What is being old? Being old is not just your face is wrinkle, but when your soul is wrinkled and heart weakened. Fear wrinkled the soul and weaken heart. Condemnation, doubt, worries, anxieties weaken the soul and heart.
Young at age 85, he is Caleb.
Joshua 14:10-13
And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”
And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.
We are always ready for battle, strong, young!
At the age of 85, Caleb was not over the hill, but conquer the hill!!
The Lord helping him will drive them out.
We shall be at 85, flourishing, full of faith, ready to drive out enemies!
What is Caleb’s secret of staying young?
Numbers 13:30-31
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”
Numbers 13:33
There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
Caleb, young man, strong!
Numbers 14:1-2
Chapter 14
Israel Refuses to Enter Canaan
So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!
Complaining, fearful, souls wrinkled and heart weakened.
Numbers 14:8-9
If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
The Lord delights in us! Young people understand love. He will bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey!
Eats giant for breakfast! He is young!
Numbers 14:24
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
When i know the Lord delights in me, the Lord takes pleasure in us! When we know He delights in us, we carry the spirit of faith! When we have faith, we follow the Lord fully!!
God is with me does not mean we ignore Him. The spirit of faith practices the presence of God and does not fear man!!
God will give it to us! God is raising the young generation! That is us!!
What differentiate us from the world, we have been with Jesus!!
Acts 4:13
The Name of Jesus Forbidden
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
We, because we have been with Christ, we have boldness! We are able to take mountains, slain giants!
We carry the spirit of faith!
When we see a mountain, we see a giant, God is able to give the mountain to us!!
God is raising a generation of young people ready to run and take that hill and mountain!!
Devil oppose us using fear and shame.
Young people keep coming to church, we keep hearing the gospel of grace.
Our hearts got younger and younger and the shame got driven out.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Perfect love will drive out all the fear and shame!
God is causing us to walk with different spirit. Cast out fear and shame! Shame cannot be ignored, only the blood of Jesus can remove shame. Only when we know what Jesus has done with our shame that it can be driven out of our hearts.
Peter denied Jesus 3 times.
John 21:15-17
Jesus Restores Peter
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
My love means a lot to Jesus!!!
Jesus value me. He still trust me.
Even with the little, Jesus still trust me. Is enough.
Remember what Jesus already done for us. The Lord restore us from shame.
Isaiah 61:7
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
Grace will super abound when we do sin. When there is shame, we have double honor.
We have a Savior who has lovingkindness and tender mercy. This is our Savior! He when He went to the cross, He was naked, slapped and beaten. He borne all the shame hanging there so that today you and I don’t need to suffer shame anymore!
Shame is a painful sensation by consciousness of guilt.
Jesus took the shame so that we don’t need to feel the painful sensation of guilt. No shame but we can walk in double honor!
When one has shame, always have confusion!
When u r under shame, u cannot truly rejoice!
Jesus already took care of that! We shall rejoice in our portion!
Peter’s ministry and person was restored.
The Lord chose Peter, the one who denied Him 3 times. Peter preached the gospel and 3000 people got saved! Double honor!
Even when we make our mistake, Peter is the guy who walk in double honor!
When we are faithless, God is faithful! When we cannot help ourselves, God is faithful! We shall fulfill God’s purpose and destiny in our lives!
A lady who wanted to take her life and walked into the sea, and was nearly drowned. A man came and save her. This man was bathing and he suddenly had a urge to go back to the sea. He went back and saw glittering and swam towards it and saw this lady and saved her!!
This lady eye diseases got healed after she continuously came to church! God is faithful when we thought all is hopeless!
Jesus hang on the cross for us.
