Sermon Note (2nd Svc)
Precious gracious Friend, Jesus Christ.
When we sing about the Lord, we are His daily delight.
What we do with Jesus is what He will do with us.
If we accept Him, He accepts us.
What we do with His Son, He will do with us.
He who gets the Son, gets every blessings of God. Gets everything that God has.
Our sins have been punished at the cross on Jesus Christ.
God is a just God, otherwise there is no need for the cross. Because of the cross, God is righteous in forgiving us. God’s righteousness is satisfied.
It is more important that we see Jesus in the scripture. In that way every generation will have equal and far chance.
The Old Testament is new concealed. In Old Testament we see beautiful picture of Jesus.
In Old Testament God gave Moses how His dwelling will be. The high priest will be the leader. The high priest will lead them.
God raised the king. The king is in first place.
When a prophet die, God can raise prophets in any where.
Elisha remind us of Jesus. God is Salvation. All His miracles are miracles of grace.
Elisha typified our God, Jesus, who is Grace.
John the baptist is a type of Elisha.
Luke 1:17
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
The way of God never ask us to hurt ourselves. God heals and blesses!
Always present the unity of the body of Christ. Present the way God sees us!
Christ came. He consumed the judgement and He did it for us.
Luke 7:33-34
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
The flesh cannot be satisfied. The problem is in our heart.
He is a gracious faithful friend. He is a ready friend. Gracious! We will see in His eyes, love for us!
Full of love and gentleness.
There is a time our faith is up and a time our faith is down. Things happen the moment we take our eyes off Jesus. We are looking at the storm and took our eyes off Jesus and become self-occupied.
Make small of my problems and make God big! Put our eyes on Jesus!!
Elisha was burn out and he needed rest. Burn out depressed prophet of God. We are considering ourselves. If this could happen to great man of God, where are we? The stories are there for our instruction and learning.
Raise, eat and drink.
There is no other food that can nourish us, but Jesus!!
Only Christ satisfy us.
Romans 11:2-4
God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
We are saved not by our works but by His blood.
We are saved not to try to recount my brothers’ sins.
Whenever a servant of God thinks of himself as indispensable, the moment we take our eyes off God. God does not appreciate it.
1 Kings 19:1-13
1 Kings 19:10
So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
1 Kings 19:11
God’s Revelation to Elijah
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
God is not in the wind, the earthquake and the fire. God’s way is the way of grace. The still small voice. Hide ourselves and not boast about ourselves. None of us is indispensable.
1 Kings 19:15-16
Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
These are written for our learning. This happen after the fire. God’s way is ways of grace. What all the preaching of judgement cannot do, God can.
Elisha perform 16 miracles. The 16th one is after he died. His body turned into bones, and a died man fell into his bone and raised up from death!
It is a privilege for me to serve.
God makes us unique. He wanna us serve Him in the uniqueness that He made us. God is not hard up. He has long long long time, we don’t.
Have a grateful heart of grace. Thank God always.
Whatever we give Him, He multiples back!!
We “lose” time for His sake, shall find it! Everyday is precious. Don’t squander it.
Lets not be hypocrite and said we are only be prepared for heaven.
Earthly life is important. The importance of communion in relating to our health!!
2 Kings 4:38
Elisha Purifies the Pot of Stew
And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”
We are entering into time of famine. This is the now word for u.
2 Kings 4:39
So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were.
He went to improve what already made and finished. It all began in the garden. Everything was prepared for Adam and Eve. They just stepped in into the finished work.
Man always try to improve and what we get is death.
Herbs- something sparkling and bright. The message is more important. The word of Jesus is more important in worship. Things that sparkle, loud and wind, might not be the answer.
He saw something shinny, it looks right and good. He thinks he can improve on what God can do for them.
2 Kings 4:40
Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
The pot is a place of food, a place of life, a place of nourishment, not death.
People are looking for lives, instead they found death.
We don’t expect death to be in the pot.
2 Kings 4:41
So he said, “Then bring some flour.” And he put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
The way of the world if there is something bad, is to remove it. The way of God is to add something good.
When 90% clean, but 10% dirty, is it ok to eat? It is not!
Uncleanliness spread.
When Jesus stepped into poisonous situation, no one ever died. He is the resurrection and the life! He came right into the midst of our depression. He moved among us!! He was among the poor and the people. He healed them all!!!
Prince of Peace came. The Son of God, the Fine Flour. As many as touched Jesus were made whole. He IS the resurrection and the Life!!
Leviticus 2:1-2
Chapter 2
The Grain Offering
“When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it. He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, one of whom shall take from it his handful of fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
Our Lord Jesus, there is nothing coarse about His way.
Speak the truth in love.
Jesus is fine flour. Oil is the holy spirit. Every word and action were motivated and prompted by Holy Spirit.
Everything about Jesus! Speak, meditate about Jesus!!
Sweet aroma to the Lord. 3 divine Person and 1 God.
Put the Lord Jesus. Our Lord Jesus stepped into death and came out. Death had to bow down to the only Man.
First Fruits. It is about the tithe and about the communion.
Counter attack means devil is afraid
Mark 4:17
and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
Everything look greener on the other side until u are on the other side.
God gives us provision and even left over!! Plentiful!!
Elisha has to say thus say the Lord.
Jesus did not have to say that because He is the Lord.
Our Lord Jesus is the Word Elisha used to feed the people.
His provision always is greater than my needs!!
His love is as large as His power. What is man’s wilderness is His storehouse.
When we think we have the ability, He can’t be. We step back and see that He is our ability!!
The more i let go the more He flows!
Healing and Provision. It is all found in the grace of our Lord Jesus!’
He loves us more than we know!
Sometimes we go thru troubles because we did something right.
Sometimes God protects us from and sometimes God allows us to go through.
Luke 22:31-32
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Luke 22:33
But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”
At the end our faith will not fail and we will return to Him.
Psalms 66:12
You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.
When we go through all these, we go out to a wealthy place!! A place of abundance!!
More than enough! Over saturation! We have spoils of war!! We are bringing ourselves to a wealthier place!!
The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not be in want.
Psalms 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
It might seems i am going thru the fire. Look for the out. When we are out, we are in the place of overflowing and abundance!!!

Thanks for the notes sharing.
I found a typo error. elijah is a type of John the Baptist, not Elisha.
