Sermon Note – 29 June
Is the presence of the Holy Spirit that brings Jesus so close to us.
There is a man whose servant was sick, but because he had faith in Jesus, his servant who was miles away was healed!
When others saw a shepherd boy, God saw a king!
No one here has a low calling! The Creator of heaven and earth gave us birth! We have high calling!
Many people in America are blessed and they are so far away and the video watched are few months old, yet we had testimonies come forth!
Love is thinking for the person. Thinking of the best for the person.
Lets be cool and anointed! Communicate!!
We are not what we feel. We are the righteousness of God! Our soul is our emotion realm! Just because we feel lousy, does not mean we have lousy day!!
The more we say no to our sexual desire, the stronger we are! (For the teenagers’ context in Legacy Camp)
After Joseph said no to temptation, he received the interpretation of dreams!
The more you given in, the more you will give in!
Be master over yourself!!
Be upward stumbling from now on! It is not downward!
Great things happen when we prioritized the house of God!
We know who we are raising our hands to! We know who we are celebrating!
We have something better in the house of the Lord!
Dancing in the house of the Lord!!
The devil don’t think the children are too young to be exposed to sin. Let them taste the goodness of God in the house of the Lord!
You can win a battle but lose a war.
The apostle don’t lose their life over moral causes. They died for the gospel.
Will the real gospel pls stand up!
Character, moral issues. What produces character and moral issues? It is the gospel! Gospel produces character, where there is no gospel, there is no character!
Grace is the gospel! Morality is not the gospel, every religion has it. Gospel is about God reaching men!!
Gospel causes us to pass from death to life!!!
Acts 10:43-44
To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”
The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
He was summoned to Jerusalem.
God sent the holy spirit direct to the Gentiles. Hands were not laid on the Gentiles.
Acts 11:17-18
If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”
When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”
Repent was not used. Repent means change of mind.
We don’t have to say repent for people to repent.
Repentance are people change their mind!
Acts 15:7-9
And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them:“Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
The moment they believe the gospel, their hearts are purified!!
We follow Jesus!! No other name! No other name but Jesus only!!
Believing produces the purifying!!
What we are looking at are the fruits! We believe the gospel and the character is born!
Heart transformation. 10 commandants cannot change your heart. It is not behavior transformation, it is heart transformation.
Character is who we are when no one is watching.
Learn to be attractive but true to the only one.
Romans 5:1
Chapter 5
Faith Triumphs in Trouble
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
We have peace with God! What a privilege!! Peace with the most powerful being!! Peace with God!! Peace with God not because He pity us. It is on the solid unshakable foundation- Jesus shed His blood for us! That blood is divine blood that is drawn from Emmanuel’s vein! We stand in the complete work of the Lord and is certain!!
It is based on the work of Christ! We have access by faith!!
Salvation is for 3 aspects of our lives!
Past, present and future!
Past-
we are justified by faith
Present –
thru Jesus we have access by faith and we stand! We will never get out of this position. One time act that needs never to be repeated!
We have permanent standing with God!!
We are in this position through Christ!! It is permanent blessing!
When we have favor with God, God gives us favor with people. Jesus had favor! People follow Him!
Future-
Rejoice in hope of the glory of God! Rejoice in future because we know God!! If we can’t rejoice, it is because it is depending on ourselves.
In and of ourselves, we can’t.
God loves us! God love is not based on anything outside Him.
Rejoice in the hope of the glory of God!! Rejoice in troubles. Troubles do not affect believers like how it affect non-believers.
Favour does not mean you have no difficulties.
David was hunted down because he had favor.
Keep on walking, don’t have to be troubled by people who don’t favor us!
Cease from man. Look to Jesus!
People who are religious, self-righteous, will hate u when u preach grace. Because they have non of themselves!
Joseph was a prosperous man, he knew the Lord was with Him!
Genesis 39:4-9
So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.
Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
5 loaves and 2 small fish and Jesus multiplied!!!
After the favor of God came on Joseph, the bible said he was handsome.
When was David said to be handsome? After he was justified by faith, he was said to be handsome.
Don’t let the world dictate to us what is beautiful. Let us radiate the glory of God!!
Esther 2:15-17
Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Esther obtained favor. Obtained means someone gave her.
Rejoice in trouble not because of trouble itself. Trouble produces perseverance. Say what you want, it is whether the Lord makes it stick. The word (condemnation words) falls to the ground.
The more God expose us to certain area, the more we grow.
Romans 5:3-5
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Now hope does not disappoint!
Pray without ceasing, ask and your joy will be full!!!
Man’s wisdom talk about invention. Man’s invention will never stop.
Adam just need to discover and not invent before the fall.
Everyday is a discovery!
We do not have to invent, we only need to discover!
Hope does not disappoint!!!
The more difficult our lives is, God has a high call for us for leadership!
Gold purified 7 times. When we go thru difficult times, God cannot leave us.
When we depend on feelings, know that it does not define us!! Enjoy the good feeling, but when bad feeling comes, observe it.
The love of God and the holy spirit.
The gift of righteousness is for all who believe!!
Starting point is we must believe in the God who justify the ungodly.
The body that bore our sins, now is raised without our sin. God justify the ungodly!
Chapter 5 reveal to us the holy spirit and the love of God for the first time.
Self-occupation is a downward spiral into depression!
Look at the spirit work in us and for us!!
Righteousness comes by faith in the finished work of Christ!! Look away from self to Christ!
The work of Christ is finished in terms of our redemption! God blesses me because Jesus deserved it!!
Everything depends on Jesus!!
From self-occupation to Christ-occupation!
Testimony from New York-
She is healed.
She had severe pain. Her knee is healed after she heard the sermons from Pastor Prince!
God wants our eyes off self !! As He is, so am I in this world!! The spirit transform us!
The holy spirit works when i look at Jesus!!!
The love of God is not an emotion.
Paul’s letters are letters! These are all love letters!
Write letters. When it is hard to communicate, write letters. Just open your heart and let the light shine in.
Express yourself to the heart.
The love of God is not emotional.
Romans 5:7-8
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Scarcely – exception
Nothing i do wrong or right can change God’s love for me.
Good things happen.
When i understand God loves me, the moment i hope for something, it happen!!!
Romans 5:9
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Our justification is by His blood!!
God gives a man power to eat.
We are justified!! It means make righteous in God’s eyes!!
We will never come under God’s wrath again!!
God has sworn He will never be angry with us!!
Rapture we go up first. The new body will never die.
As a bright and morning Star, He came first – rapture.
The Sun of Righteousness come after.
Tribulation is the days of God’s wrath. When God pour out His anger in tribulation, we are saved from God’s wrath.
Spiritual growth is not feeling strong. It is more conscious of our weaknesses. Be satisfied with Christ and who He is to us.
Growth is marked by interest consciousness of weaknesses and be satisfied with Christ and who He is to us!!
