Sermon note (1st svc)
Victory over fruitlessness!
Jesus was not murdered. He laid down His life at the cross.
Never underestimate sin when we preached the cross. At the cross u see the sin in the real ugliness and the cross reveal the love of God.
We are all bad and God is all good for us.
Enjoy the full Jesus when i see there is none of me and all of Him.
The Father did not condemn the Son. The Father loved Him because He laid down His life. The Father loved Him long before He came to die for our sin, the Father loved Him long before the creation exist.
God loves man! The cross demonstrate God’s love! We see Jesus hanging on the cross. He suffered like no man suffered. The depth of the suffering Jesus went thru. It is not just physical.
Today we celebrate Jesus’ risen from the dead.
All of us will be risen from the dead. It is either falling asleep (death) or the rapture. Almost every letter of Paul look forward to the coming of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Comfort of Christ’s Coming
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Church is the place u learn how to love people. God leaves us here. He allows test to surface. The world may know Jesus thru our sharing and preaching.
Paradise is the place near hell. It is not heaven. In hell they still feel.
We are made in God’s image.
There is a place of righteous dead, the paradise. When Jesus rose from the dead, the bodies of the righteous dead ross with Him.
Hell is still there, paradise is empty.
Paradise is not heaven.
John 20:1-18
The stone was not taken away to let Jesus out. His body could transcend matter.
The disciple whom Jesus loves (whom Jesus keep loving) was mentioned 5 times by John.
John 20:5
And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
The cloths lying there. the amazing part of is the body is not there, but the linen cloths was left behind. The linen cloths are expensive, if the thief want to steal the body, he would not steal the body and left the linen cloths behind.
3 “seeing”
John saw (just see) the linen cloths left behind
Peter saw (theorising – finding logical reasoning) the linen cloths left behind
The other disciple saw (eido – see from holy spirit, intuitive) and believe
John has a special place for Mary (Jesus’ mother) John mentioned another Mary (not Jesus’ mother)
U can have love in your heart but wrong in your head.
The tomb where angels sat down both side is a picture of the real ark.
The work is finished.
The very first man (Adam) was a “gardener”. The first gardener turned the garden to hell. The second “Gardener” Jesus turned the garden to victory.
Saviour calling forth His sheep, He called her “Mary”
John 20:17
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”
God is now righteous in making us righteous.
At the cross, righteousness and mercy kissed.
When Jesus ross from death, He conquered death. Victory over death. All of death comes victory!
John 20:19-22
The Apostles Commissioned
Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
All fear have torment. U can’t sing your fear away .Perfect love cast out all fear
Peace be with you. Grace (Jesus) is standing there.
By preaching Jesus, you stop sin.
First group of people go to hell are the fearful.
Second group of people are unbelieving.
Peace be unto you. Shalom.
Shalom means completeness.
Let not my heart be troubled.
John 20:20
When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
His hands and His side near to His heart.
Whatever fear we have, Jesus is with us
If you are dead you are dead spiritually.
Jesus came to make dead people live!
Joy comes by seeing the Lord.
When people see Jesus, joy comes!
When u step out of peace, u know u step out of God’s will.
John 20:24-29
Seeing and Believing
Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 21:1-6
Chapter 21
Breakfast by the Sea
After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?”
They answered Him, “No.”
And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
Jesus gives us victory over fruitlessness
We need Jesus to direct. A leader must be a good servant following the Lord. A good leader point to Jesus. Good leader are not conscious they are leader.
Throw the net on the right side. The righteousness message.
Jesus’ “some” is multitude!
Even when there is fruitlessness, there is fruitfulness in Christ.
Talk to Jesus. Tell Jesus i am stressed, i am worried. He wants to be my friend.
He has the sympathy of a man.
The mark of spirituality is how u treat people.
Focus on Jesus, there will be fruitfulness in the areas in our life!
