Sermon note (3rd svc)
Overflowing life and health – Keys from the story of Elisha (30 nov 2014)
Worship is bringing reminder to God about His Son.
Worship is telling the Father with all the things you have seen and heard with Jesus.
Every time we sing, we are His delight. If we honour Jesus, God honour you.
He who gets the Son gets every blessing of God! Do you have the Son? Do you have Him?
Our sins have been punished at the cross.
We need our judges to be unbiased.
God is a just God, or else there is no need for the cross.
Because of the cross, God is righteous in receiving us!
God’s righteousness is satisfied with what Jesus has done on the cross.
Look for Jesus throughout the bible.
If you are hungry He is the Bread of life. If you are thirsty, He is the Water.
It is more important the disciples see Jesus in the Scripture, in the Word.
The old testament is the new concealed. The new testament is the old revealed.
Elisha reminds us of our Lord Jesus. Eli – God of power Sha – saves
Elisha was homely prophet. He was accessible to the common people.
Luke 1:17
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Elijah’s ministry was cut short
The way of God never ask u to hurt yourself. God heals and blesses.
Present to God the unity of the body of Christ.
In that day under the law, judgement was greater than the sacrifice.
In grace, the Sacrifice is greater than the judgement.
Luke 7:33-34
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
Jesus is a ready Friend. His eyes are like the water of living water, full of love and gentleness.
There are times our faith is up and down. Things happen the moment we take our eyes off Jesus. We are looking at the storm and our problems become bigger.
Make small of your problems, make God BIG
Only Christ satisfied. God feed me with Himself.
Romans 11:2-4
God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
We are saved not by works, don’t recount your brothers’ sins.
Whenever a servant of God thinks he is indispensable, God will ask him to anoint his successor.
1 Kings 19:10-13
So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
God’s Revelation to Elijah
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
God’s way is way of grace.
Elijah performed 8 miracles
Elisha performed 16 miracles (double portion of anointing)
Always think it is a privilege for me to serve.
Juda let his office (overseaer), another takes.
God makes u unique. God wants you to serve in your uniqueness.
God is no hard up. He got eternity. Those who seek to save their lives they lose it. Those who lose their lives for His sake shall find it!!
Everyday is precious.
2 Kings 4:38-44
Elisha Purifies the Pot of Stew
And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.” So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were. Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
So he said, “Then bring some flour.” And he put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
Elisha Feeds One Hundred Men
Then a man came from Baal Shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.”
But his servant said, “What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?”
He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’ ” So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
Man always want to improve what God has done and this cost troubles.
The way of the world when there is something bad, is to remove it. But the way of God is to add something greater
Uncleanliness spread. The Son of God is the fine flour.
Bring some flour!
Leviticus 2:1-2
Chapter 2
The Grain Offering
“When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it. He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, one of whom shall take from it his handful of fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
Our Lord Jesus there is nothing uneven about Him.
Speak the truth in love.
Oil is holy spirit.
Frankincense – every thoughts are sweet smelling to God.
Leviticus 2:4
“And if you bring as an offering a grain offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
Holy spirit shall overshadow u
Put the Lord Jesus in every sermon and He is the One who will purify
It is about the tithe and communion.
Mark 4:17
and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
Appreciate what you have got.
2 Kings 4:38-44

Jesus did not have to say thus say the Lord cos He is the Lord.
Jesus is the Word of God becomes flesh.
Our Lord Jesus is in the class and standing of its own.
His provision is always greater than your needs. He always exceed your needs!!
His love is as large as His power. In measurable.
Your willingness is His storehouse.
When you think you have the ability, He will step out. When you think you don’t have the ability, He will be your ability.
Both stories have to do with healing and provision. All found in the grace of our Lord Jesus.
Things turn around because He prayed for u.
When something is wrong, it is not we did something wrong. It is we did something right.
Luke 22:31-34
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”
Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”
There is something in Peter. He was very self-confidence. He went through and his faith did not fail and he was able to strengthen others.
Psalms 66:12
You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.(abundance – revayah)
Psalms 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over. (Revayah)
The “out” won’t be the way we went in. God will bring us to higher, more abundance!!
Don’t be afraid! God is bringing us to a wealthier place!
Look for the “out”! When we are out, it is higher than the place we went in!
Praise the Lord!
