Sermon note (3rd svc)By Rev Col Stringer
Ephesians 3:8
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
Ephesians 3:9-12
and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.
Ephesians 3:13-14
Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 3:14-16
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
Ephesians 3:17-19
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Don’t lose heart. Don’t throw in the towel.
Have we lost touch with God? Have our battery run flat?
Jude 1:20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Jude 1:24
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
Infuse yourself with His strength.
Infusion of power of holy spirit.
Don’t lose heart.
1 Corinthians 14:2-3
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
I can do something on purpose for fellowship with God. Communicate with God.
Charge up, build up the most holy faith in our holy spirit.
When we pray in tongue, we are not praying from our brain!! The language comes from somewhere beyond the brain!
Most of the problem we face is stress.
1 Corinthians 14:4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
Genesis 11:1-6
The Tower of Babel
Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
Zephaniah 3:9
“For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him with one accord.
Isaiah 28:11-12
For with stammering lips and another tongue
He will speak to this people,
To whom He said, “This is the rest with which
You may cause the weary to rest,”
And, “This is the refreshing”;
Yet they would not hear.
Pray in tongue!
This is the rest. This is the refreshing.
Psalm 46
Be still in His presence.
Breathe slowly. Breathe deeply. This is how i receive His peace.
The holy spirit search our hearts.
This is the rest and refreshing. Relax in His holy presence.
Matthew 11:28-29
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
If i pray in tongue i communicate with God Himself.
He restores my soul.
You can’t afford not to do it.
Start praying in the holy spirit. Creativity starts coming to us.
Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Repent. Focus on the Lord. Catch your breathe again.
God breathe into us the breath of life.
Refresh life itself
2 Timothy 1:6-7
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
When i pray in the tongue, i communicate with God.
I can do almost everything with a mobile phone. However when the battery go flat, we can’t do anything with it.
We are talking abt life here. Infuse yourself with the holy spirit!!
