BCHF was founded by Pastor Prathuan Wassnari and his wife Supanee 7 years ago after the Home he worked in suddenly shut down. Many kids were thrown into confusion as they wd hv to go back to their respective villages at the risk of being trafficked.
Ps Prathuan and wife were house parents then and they took 39 of the kids by faith! They did not want them to be deprived of an education and knowing Jesus. He had to act fast because the moment the kids go home they will stop school and likely to become drug addicts up in the mountains where they live. Things were tough going initially but they persevered and now most of those kids have uni degrees and lucrative jobs.
I came when they needed funds for basic things like decent plates to eat off for the kids etc. I don’t run the Home. Why reinvent the wheel? The locals are better at this. I help them to raise funds and be that bridge to the overseas supporters. Something they cannot do for themselves.
The kids’ ages are between 6 and 19. They are all tribal children mainly from the Akha, Hmong, Lahu and Karan tribe. They go to public schools. The Home ensures that they go to school, they have food on the table and they know Christ. The Pastor has started a church on the Home premises for the children. They have bible study every tue and worship every thu.
I hv not seen a happier bunch of kids till I work here.
