Jesus brought the law back to purity. U think u commit adultery if u sleep with someone else but just looking is adultery. The law brings the inward outward.
U need to know the purpose of the sermon of the mount. It is not THE law but law.
Jesus came to bring grace. The law existed already. Grace and truth are one. It’s like putting butter on bread- once u put butter in bread, it becomes butter bread. Can’t separate anymore. The butter melts in. U can’t separate grace and truth.
Some divide grace and truth this way:
Neither do I condemn u- grace
Go and sin no more – truth
John 1:17
– Moses is a servant
– Jesus is the Son
Servant doesn’t abide in the house forever. The Son does. U don’t give your inheritance to your servant, u give to your son. Your servant may be excellent but you will leave inheritance to your less than perfect son. Same.
Law is on one side and Grace & Truth is on other side. What God has put together let no man tear apart. What God has separated let no man put together.
Curse is real. A well-known family in America- generation after generation- are bit by it. But we as believers are no longer under the curse. The king of all kings wore the crown of thorns- thorns rept the curse. We have been redeemed by the curse.
Under grace, He says clearly I will remember your sins no more. What happened? The Cross.
The essence of today’s teaching comes from here.
First miracle of Moses- judgment. Turning water to blood.
First miracle of Jesus- turn water into wine.
He compresses time to turn water to wine.
The greatest miracle in our life was also compression of time – being born again.
A child may not speak about the business or know about it but still the heir to the biz empire.
Whatever your state is, your standing can’t be touched.
Grace says “I WILL be their God. I WILL be merciful with their sins and their sins I WILL remember no more.”
His part is I WIL. Our part is I BELIEVE.
Miracles of John are signs.
Lord of time and space- when he compressed time to turn wTer into wine
Law is perfect and can’t bend to help u. Law bends means it isn’t law.
Depend on the flow of grace as supply- Christ in me. Learn to rest in Him.
Grace and truth appear to be two items right? Means plural right? John 1:17 “grace and truth came” should be plural right?
Eg. “Jack and Jill play to win.” NOT “Jack and Jill plays to win.”
So “came” in the Greek should be plural verb but it isn’t. It is in the singular verb.
Water and wet are one. U can’t seperate water from wet. U touch water, u get wet.
So that’s why you touch grace and truth, u are set free.
The first time grace and truth appears is when the servant was looking for a bride for his master’s son in Genesis.
Abraham was told to take Isaac to offer him on one of the mountains. Take your son, your only son that you love… A strange directive. The boy helped his dad carry the pile of wood- pic of Jesus! God was demonstrating that He was gonna give His Son- His best- for us. This is even though men rebels against Him.
Men rebel against God by refusing to have Him in their conscious. Rather Big Bang than God as cause for Earth’s existence.
God stopped Abraham w an angel and today we can tell God now I know u love because u did not withhold your only son, your beloved son.
When Isaac came down mountain w Abraham- Isaac’s name no longer mentioned. Signifies the son is dead in the eyes of the LORD. Whose name is mentioned? Rebecca- the beautiful bride for the beloved son.
HS is here to draw attention not to himself but to the Son.
HS tells us about the Son we have not seen every Sunday like the way the servant told Rebecca about Isaac whom she had never seen.
Rebecca, fell off the horse into the arms of Isaac when she meets him- according to rabbinical tradition.
Thank God we are part of the bride the HS is preparing for Jesus.
At the end of this church age, the rapture will happen. We will in a flash be forever young and have a brand new body. Can’t die. Death is behind as it is thrown in the lake of fire. This isn’t religion. This is reality.
Isaac was happy and comforted to have found Rebecca. U think u are waiting for the rapture, He is waiting for u.
This is the longest chapter in the bible- He is waiting 2000 yrs for the HS to prepare the bride.
Everything good placed in the hands of men= fails
Priesthood= failed
Prophets= failed
Kings= failed
In the hands of men- Can start off right but will fail.
So the last thing left He could do was to send the last man, the last Adam.
Virgin birth was necessary – Mary’s blood stained a sin. The blood that washes away our sin must not be. Babies don’t receive blood from mother. Science tells us the food is passed to baby from mum and the baby passes waste into her. That’s it.
We are part of the Universal church. Each indiv church is part of this universal church. Eg, like an embassy. All the ambassadors of a country live based on the riches of the country they are from even if they are representing their country in a poor country.
He took your shame and gave u His glory. That is the love of God.
Everything u experience in life is designed to help U know this good God that gave us life & the wonderful resources we sustain ourselves on.
God wants u to enjoy and to remember He is the source of enjoyment.
God made Adam named the animals before Eve came. 🙂 So Adam would appreciate the creation of Eve for him. From Adam’s side, God took out the rib and closed it- made Eve from it.
At Jesus’ death, He was pierced at the side – blood and water came out. Heart had already ruptured when he died. He died of a broken heart literally. Blood to wash away our sins. Water to? Spear represents hatred.
Our love will run out. Our kids need to live on His love. Ditto w marriage. Every marriage needs a third party- Jesus. He holds u together. The first miracle- the wine of love ran out. In Him, He creates the intoxicating wine that holds married couples together.
Eph 5:25
Jesus gave himself for the church – husbands love your wife just as Christ loves the church. Not possible for husband to truly love the wife if he doesn’t know how much Christ loves the church.
When King James wanted a bible (KJV) to be printed, he wanted the state to have some say so he put church to replace “assembly or gathering of people”. Church is living breathing. Not a building. Part of the Father’s right hand w Christ.
Jesus didnt just give up His throne or kingdom but HIMSELF. Study the word HIMSELF in the NT.
“The Father himself loves u…”

Eg. “Surely HE bore our diseases…” – the emphasis is on HE in the Hebrew.
Don’t just parrot the pastors’ communion prayers. Meditate on who HE is as u take communion and pray.
There were 2 disciples walking back home on resurrection Sunday. As they walked, Jesus HIMSELF drew near. Book of Thessalonians says The Lord HIMSELF will come down.
So priesthood, prophets and kings all failed. And Jesus? He never failed. He became the prophet, priest and king. The church is not just with Him but part of Him. So we carry the prophet, priest and king anointing. What you say has Kavod power so mind what u speak over yourself. Devil can’t read your mind so don’t confirm his suspicions.
Put everything in your life in His hands because nothing fails and can only multiplies in His hand. Like Potiphar who put everything in Joseph’s hand.
Jesus never fails. He is the same ytdy, today and forever.
Even the richest and wisest man who ever lived, he failed. When will u learn to put everything in the hands of Him who doesn’t fail?
Church is in hidden form in the OT. The Hebrews could never imagine that.
Why did Israel choose them? God picked Abraham and placed his people in the land that is Israel because it is a land bridge to show His glory to the people. Israel = a testimony. Positive testimony when they depended on Him. Negative testimony when they didn’t. Israel thinks the world revolves around them and rightly so. When they were idolatrous, God raised the Babylonians to conquer them. And Greeks – Alexander the Great. Prophesied about him before he was even born. Then the Romans were raised.
Israel had forgotten God. When they left Egypt, Egypt was impoverished. But they had forgotten tht.
God’s mystery- hidden in OT but revealed in NT. The church is the most powerful thing there is on earth. Where healing takes place- thank God for medical science but with new strains of viruses and diseases appearing, the hope is found in the house of God. The hope is in the church. The prosperity is in the church.
Eph I:19-23
Testimonies of healings like those of those healed of cancer= because of His exceeding greatness
Right hand- place of power and authority. He sat down not because He is the Son but because the work was finished. If u believe in him, no one can be lost.
His name has power. U say JESUS and they flee.
Once Ps was at Newton Circus, a guy was yelling at his girl and about to whack her. Ps was close to joining the fray to stop him. About to go nearer when HS spoke up in him, “Son do u really think Flesh and overcome flesh? Will lead to disaster for them and for your testimony. Respond my way. My power is greater than that.” So pastor prayed out loud in the name of Jesus for the spirit that was causing him to beat her to cease and spoke peace into them. The guy stopped and held his girl close.
The power will go on and on in ages to come v21
God put all things under his feet-
When a disease is going somewhere to happen…
When u board a plane…
The disasters are under His feet
Don’t follow financial benefits from head knowledge to move. U ask Him first and flow with Him. He is the head over all things to the church.
NLT … Head over all things for the BENEFIT of the church.
If I am boarding a plane and the pilot is supposed to go, I believe His time to go is postponed because Jesus is higher than the aeroplane. Nothing will happen because I am boarding the plane
We have authority over our home, our body. People need to know the headship has been given for the benefit of the church & to pray in the name of Jesus.
There is only one name that Heaven responds to.
Like a traffic police, he raises his hand and the three tonner stops because of WHOSE he is. Not about his size or height.
Same as us, we have the power of attorney in Christ. Don’t fail to use your authority in Christ. Even against your pimple. Jesus spoke and everything obeyed.
Eph5:28- 33
Husbands should love their wives as they love their bodies.
U are doing yourself a favour if u do. Not u doing her a favour.
Keep wife warm v29. Jesus does that for the church, sometimes we don’t deserve it but he holds us close regardless.
Are his bones sick? Is his flesh sick? No! We are members of his bodies and his bones and his flesh.
Acts 9:1-7
V4- Jesus asked Saul why he was persecuting Him? Saul had been persecuting the believers, the church then.
He didn’t say “why are u persecuting what is mine?” Coz that isn’t a complete truth. Didn’t use “us”- us can be with u but not part of u. He used “me”.
Learn to identify yourself. U are ONE with Him. He is the vine and u are branches. All the branches is the vine. Not like a tree. It climbs on the trellis (cross shaped). All of us are part of Christ. The same glory that flows in that vine, flows in u. Ur part is not to produce. It is His part. Ur part is to bear- rest, relax and manifest.
No branch struggling can bear fruit. When God flows, there is beautiful fruit.
“God how come we get salary but our bag is full of holes? We eat and eat but aren’t full… Etc” – Haggai told the people coz they were too involved with self and not the church. Christianity is not a solo act. Even Lone Ranger has Tonto and Tonto talks a lot more today. Get involved in serving, w care groups for body life. Single mum? Our leaders can speak advice into your son’s life.
All found in the house. Don’t go outside and find something that can hurts u for ten years. Some guys are so attractive and when they speak, honey drops from their mouth… but u go to church, and there is accountability. Leaders might advice u that this man is a buaya (playboy) and there is leading and accountability. The church is where Jesus has put all His blessings and fullness and He is head over it.
