Sermon Notes- Dr Marilyn Hickey 8/11/15

Joshua 1:8

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

Meditating on the Word, Speaking the Word ; Doing the Word makes u prosperous and successful. 

She was told she has an enlarged heart and can’t be active when she was in her mid 20s. Sat in service and prayed for a new heart. Felt a warmth. She went to the doc for a check-up and the doctor said she has a wonderful heart. She said she has a new one. 

Meditate- to chew- like a cow. Chew, go into the stomach, come up, chew etc. As u keep chewing the Word will crack open for u. 

All Joshua had was the Pentateuch to meditate on. He only had the first five books. No psalms, proverbs or epistles like we do. He spoke the word and speaking the word is so important to our lives. 

Healing meeting- she was at one when the people in charge said don’t pray for the sick. Said it was offensive. Said she could only preach. She was upset  but the LORD said to calm down. So she said she would pray for the sick just for the first night and if they aren’t comfortable she won’t do for the other 5 nights. They said ok. So she asked the LORD to show up and show off. So she felt led to pray for people with wrist problems. 5000 people there. And a guy came up running up. Number one war hero, shot in the wrist and couldn’t open his hands. The guy who said don’t pray for the people asked her to pray for the sick. 😉 

42 times bible calls us beloved. 🙂 Dr MH asked us to stand and say Hi LORD, this is Your beloved. 

Dr MH asked the LORD what to meditate on first. Proverbs. Took 9m and memorized all of proverbs. 

No female on TV preaching. They told her to stick to radio. God thinks u can do anything. They gave a chance and 44 years later, she is still on TV. 

Memories the gospel of John. When u go through the gospels, they also read u and talk to u. 

The Word when it gets in me, it is truth inside and when the truth it gets inside, it becomes wisdom up in my mind. The more truth in the heart, more wisdom up in our mind. 

84yo and her hearing was off the last time she had a MED check up. And the doc recently told her that her hearing is 35% improved from 4y ago after some testing. 

Psalm 139—-> Dr MH says to meditate on this. 

Her biggest successes started coming when she was 80yo so don’t say the Word doesn’t work. Your biggest miracles are ahead of u. Meditate on His Word. 

Say the verse 10 times. When u wake up the word will talk to u, and as u walk it will work with u. 

Her daughter came back from studies overseas and felt disillusioned. In the natural, felt like slapping her. In the spirit, told her that they love her not because of what she believes in because when she was a baby and born, she did not believe anything. They love her because she is their own. 

Dr MH has a calling to pray for people with growths tumors and warts. A lady with 26 tumors. Had hers disappear after prayer. 

Process miracle. Not all miracles are instant. 

Man at pool of Bethesda, Jesus told the guy to get up (process) & he struggled to get up. Then He said to pick up your bed (process- bend down and pick up), walk (process). 

Dr MH had a curvature of the spine. She would say “Thank U Jesus I am better.” Did that for 6m and now they told her she has a perfect spine. 

The game is not over till we win! We don’t know how to give up, but we know how to win!! We know how to win- thanks be to God, we are triumphant in Christ. 🙂 

Thanks be unto God, who always leads me to triumph, in Christ and through us, diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. I have winning perfume on.

Joshua took the promise land at 86yo. He prospers. He says give me a mountain. Not a little house. 

Joshua 24- as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 

Speak the Word. Joshua memorized the Word and did the Word. He made His whole life and everything around it miraculous.

Her daughter recommitted herself to Jesus after a friend walked her through gospel of John. The guy who walked her through it, his father was saved at a meeting Dr MH was preaching.
